Camp of 2nd Minnesota in Tennessee near Triune, April 19, 1863
Yesterday we received four months’ pay, fifty-two dollars in two-dollar bills. We are now paid to March 1st.
I asked Captain Donehower if there was a chance to send money as before. He said he would not be responsible for the money. If the draft gets lost then also is the money lost.
We have a chance here to send money by express, but they do not want to be responsible for the money before they are in Louisville.
About the Tarald farm, I don’t think it wise to go in debt for it.
